How to Bake Healthy Horse Treats
No molasses. No sugar. No mystery ingredients. Just real food your horse actually wants to eat.
Why bake your own?
Most commercial horse treats are held together with molasses, corn syrup, or added sugar — a problem for horses with metabolic conditions or insulin dysregulation. Homemade treats let you control exactly what goes in. Flavors Hydration Mix serves as the flavoring agent with no added sugar.
Recipe 1: The One-Pocket Treat
- 2 tbsp Flavors Hydration Mix
- 2 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1 cup oat flour
- ¼–⅓ cup water
Instructions: Mix dry ingredients. Add water until dough holds shape. Roll to ½ inch, cut into pieces. Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes. Cool completely. Safe for the whole Farmily™.
Flavor combinations that work well
- Mint Condition — classic, extremely well-accepted
- As American As — apple and cinnamon, universally popular
- For The Girls — banana and raspberry, great for mare treats
- Soul Soup — pumpkin and turmeric, savory and comforting
